Quick Trade from the Board#
Quick Trade is a fast path for placing an Immediate-or-Cancel (IOC) order directly from the markets list, without opening the full market detail page. This page covers the UI flow; for order-type and fee mechanics, see Placing Orders.
1. Tap a price on the markets board#
On the markets list, each live market shows its best YES and NO prices as tappable buttons. Tapping either opens the Quick Trade panel:
- Tapping the YES price preloads a Buy YES order at the current best price.
- Tapping the NO price preloads a Sell NO order at the current best price (equivalent to buying YES exposure the other way — see Understanding Shares for why NO orders are converted onto the same book).
Quick Trade defaults to a small fixed order size so you can react fast; use the full order form on the market detail page for custom sizing.
2. Adjust price, amount, and funding source#
The Quick Trade panel lets you:
- Edit the price (as a percentage) and amount (in shares) before confirming.
- Choose a side (YES/NO) if you want to flip from what was preloaded.
- Pick a funding source — Wallet or Free Funds — if a free-funds balance is available for the market. See Fund your trading balance and trade with free funds for how that balance gets there.
3. Confirm#
Confirming submits an IOC order: it fills what it can immediately at your specified price and cancels any unfilled remainder — there is no resting order left behind. A toast confirms the transaction signature on success.
4. If your wallet isn't ready#
You can open and adjust the Quick Trade panel without a connected wallet or resolved address. Confirming in that state surfaces a "connect wallet" error inline instead of submitting — connect (or finish connecting) and try again.
Keyboard access#
The price buttons on the board are keyboard-focusable; pressing Enter on a focused price opens the same Quick Trade panel as a tap or click.
